Children’s books about courage

Author’s note:
Runaway bird and Little birdie learns to fly are the same character different story lines and Freedom, the wolf with a big heart is another character. Are all inspired by my 11 year old son and later new born daughter. We hear stories everyday on TV or social media about instances where a kid has been kidnapped or abducted either by stranger even family members. Children today have a hard time concentrating in school more likely to disengage by the time they reach high school due to the lack of interest. Last, but not least, as parents our intentions are always good when it comes to help our children but doesn’t know how to convey it in a way it would be impactful. The premises for the children books and each illustration align with these analogies. Sort of life imitate arts. Something every parent can find relatable and encouraging.

Book Excerpt

It was a joyful day when a beautiful baby wolf
cub “Freedom” was born in the forest.
As son of beloved tribal chiefs among several
wolf clans, it was believed that Freedom was
going to become one day a great and mighty
defender and peaceful ruler of all the wolves in
the forest.

But Freedom’s parents were not without
enemies. A powerful rival clan wanted to kill
Freedom to end the family’s reign. So his
parents moved him to a secret hideout, deep in
the forest.

Freedom’s parents returned home from
hunting one day to find Casper, the rival leader
and ten of his clan members destroying their
home in search of the baby cub.
Every day, from the first sight of the sun to the
bright light of the moon, Freedom would travel
across a great lake to a grassy field on the top of a mountain. He became more and more
popular among the pack for alerting them to
dangers by howling from the mountaintop.

The clan began to see in Freedom the making
of a true leader. He was caring and strong and
knew how to hunt with discipline and with
clever plans.
But jealousy was starting to brew within the
community. Some of Freedom’s fellow wolves
were upset with all the attention he was
getting. They wanted him out.

Meanwhile, outside of Freedom’s community,
Caspar’s group was gaining control of more
and more clans through fights.
When Freedom heard of Caspar’s plans to
attack his clan, he warned his fellow wolves
and prepared them for battle. Freedom
promised to keep a close watch over them.
